All images were processed in Adobe Photoshop CS2 (on Windows XP) and were submitted to the publisher in TIFF format--some in black-and-white, some in color. Unlike previous editions of Television, the third edition had to take into account new, high-definition, widescreen TV images. Consequently, there are two sets of specifications for those two different formats.
Standard Definition | High Definition (widescreen) | |
Aspect Ratio (width x height) |
4 x 3 or 1.33 x 1 |
16 x 9 or 1.78 x 1 |

Uncompressed TIFF format file size | Approximately 1,200k | Approximately 1,400k |
*The in-print size varied somewhat based on the content of individual pages. All of the book's images were printed at 220 dots per inch. Consequently, the images were shrunk to fit that size.
