composite video connectors

Our illustration shows "composite" video connectors. Composite is very easy to confuse with "component" video, but the two are quite different. Component video uses three separate connectors just for the video--unlike composite video which blends those three into a single composite connector.


Component video is typically reserved for high-quality video connections. The illustration below showing the back of a DVD player has three component-video inputs colored green, blue and red (under the "video out" label).
